The mission of Earthplace is to educate the community about ways of taking
action to preserve, protect and enjoy nature and the environment. Founded in
1958 and accredited by The American Association of Museums, Earthplace
manages a 62 acre wildlife sanctuary with trails, houses live wildlife for
public viewing, operates Natureplace, an interactive nature discovery
museum, and presents many public nature programs.
September 29 museum programs will focus on wolves, coyotes and "wild dogs."
Talks, crafts and movies focusing on these species will be presented.
Other activities include the Harbor Watch/River Watch water quality testing
program, a state-licensed preschool and summer camp, and a wildlife
rehabilitation program.
On September 29, we will also be hosting the Norwalk Aquarium Society 41st
Annual Tropical Fish Show. Visitors will be able to view the many fish
species that will be on display. This show is also presented as an
International Betta Congress Sanctioned Betta Show.
